OCI serves the community by providing assistance to both neighborhood residents as well as businesses and institutions through the vehicles of advocacy and engagement, community building, marketing, special events, neighborhood planning and housing assistance. Furthermore, OCI is engaged in tenant attraction and retention. View the summary of the 2025 engagement findings <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohiocity.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/SWOT-Comms-1.pdf\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\t\tPrevious Strategic Plans and Studies for Ohio City\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>In 2016, Ohio City Inc.&#8217;s Board and Staff developed &#8220;Access and Mobility: 2017-2019 Strategic Vision,&#8221; an update to the organization&#8217;s previous strategic plan. This effort engaged nearly 1,000 individuals. The Ohio City Safety Camera Initiative\u202fis designed to deter crime by installing, and identifying through signage, safety cameras in strategic locations throughout the neighborhood. Camera footage is a useful tool to the Second District police in investigating incidents of crime.\u202f<b>For more information, Brandon Collier at <a href=\"mailto:bcollier@ohiocity.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bcollier@ohiocity.org<\/a>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\t\tOhio City Improvement Corporation\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>Ohio City&#8217;s\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohiocity.org\/about-the-ambassadors\/\">Clean &amp; Safe Ambassadors<\/a>\u202fprovide services that include patrolling the Special Improvement District, removing litter and graffiti, providing safety escorts, addressing public disturbances, homeless outreach, and greeting and assisting people in the district. Near West Recreation offers year-round recreation programming for children of all ages as well as select programs for adults. At this event, we also present our Annual Report, sharing the details of the work we accomplished over the past year and updates on ongoing projects.<\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\t\tEvents\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>Our previous major events were the\u202fOhio City Street Festival, which has brought in over 15,000 attendees each September. This day-long celebration of the Ohio City neighborhood showcases neighborhood restaurants, West Side Market vendors, and retail, a wide variety of interactive arts programming, live music, and a kids&#8217; zone full of family-friendly activities. This event is completely free and open to all. In the past, some of these events included\u202f<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cptonline.org\/performances\/seasons\/2016-2017\/station-hope-2017\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Station Hope<\/a>,\u202f<a href=\"http:\/\/www.clevelandart.org\/events\/music-and-performances\/ohio-city-stages-2017\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ohio City Stages, <\/a>Open Air in Market Square\u202f, and the\u202fOhio City Run &amp; Crawl<\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\t\tMarketing\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>Ohio City Inc. facilitates neighborhood and marketing initiatives through our social media, website,\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohiocity.org\/news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">e-newsletter<\/a>, quarterly newsletter In Your Backyard (mailed free of charge to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohiocity.org\/membership\/\">Ohio City Inc. members<\/a>,) and other communications.
